Adoption Month 2010

We did quite a bit this year to honor adoption month this year. We started taking pictures at Genrations which was one of the first chain of daycares that the children were part of before placment. I took theme with my camera phone and am trying to get them online and hopefully printed off to make out yearly life books.
Cristina is part of Daisey scouts and we did a big fundraiser which my older daughter Amanda was so vital in pulling it off. It was a soup fundriaser and the proceeds of can goods mostly soup went to the soup kitchen in the inner city that we know is frequented by both birthparents and havce been seen nearby on occasion.
That was on of the high points of Girl scouts and I enjoyed plannign that function. I also have photos of that which I feel will be scrapbookable.
Then, I also must mention while I am blogging that on an evening after boyscouts my 8year old adoptive son asked about babys being born from their Mothers's Tummys. The show was Doc Hollywood and it was toward the end of the movie when he was delivering a baby in the back of a stationwagon and then ended at the hospital.
I had a family emergency when I had to care for my mother and she was in emergency most of the weekend. Our talk about babies and birth was postponed till Sunday evening. It actually went well and I was relievd and please with myself.
Things have been difficult for Cristina at school. It has been a tough transition and she is not doing too well. Her special education reevaluation is approaching.
Both children have has special book to read for Adoption Month. Welcome home forever child and really wonderful. Their Adoptive Grandother on my Husbands side gave the book to each of them. It is great!
Well that is it for now. I hope to have alot to say about Thanksgiving and X-mas.
